Stop This Train

A little interlude here.Just got caught up with John Mayer's new track from his upcoming album "Continuum".It is actually a video clip from a private concert he did last December at Eddie's Attic, and was supposed to be REALLY private. But apparently somebody brought in a video camera and recorded this new track.

Piracy can be a pain in the ass,but sometimes you really have to thank God for it's existence.I know i am guilty of a lot of things, but seriously i HAD to listen to this one.Besides,it's not like im not going to buy his album.;)

It's a great great song, the first time i heard it.The lyrics especially,is amazing. It tells about how he's afraid of growing old somehow, time being the train and he being the passenger upon it.How he is afraid of his parents growing older, how everybody succumbs to death, being part of their fates. It's a pretty cool song, and sure makes the upcoming album sound promising enough.

Way to go,Mr. Mayer.

Stop This Train

No,i'm not colourblind
I know the world is black and white
Try to keep an open mind
I just can't sleep on this tonight

Stop this train
I want to get off and go home again
I can't take the speed its movin' in
I know I can't
But honestly
Won't someone stop this train

Don't know how else to say it
Don't wanna see my parents grow old
One generation's left for me
For finding life out on my own

Stop this train...

I'm green at getting older
I'm only good at being young
So I play the numbers game
To find a way to say that life has just begun

Had a talk with my old man
Said,"Help me understand."
He said,"Son,68
You renegotiate."

Don't stop this train
Its all for the man to lose
But playin's so good
You don't think I could at all
But understand
I've tried my hand
Tried honestly
You'll never stop this train

Once in a while, when its good
It'll feel like it should
When they're all still around
And you're still safe and sound
And you don't miss a thing
So you cry when you're driving away in the dark

Just singin'

Stop this train
I wanna get off and go home again
I can't take the speed it's movin' in
I know I can't cuz now I see
I'll never stop this train

Never stop this train
