Impossibly Incredible

I had an urge,an urge that needed a remedy.I wanted to watch Mission:Impossible III yesterday afternoon, and with merely two books left on my shelves unread,i also had the urge to get yet another book off the Pulitzer Prize winning list.I was desperate, and in the end i headed down town with Corinna for a dinner out and movie, which turned out amazing by the way(Anything done with her is pretty much,on the top five of the Amazing List anyway).

You'd think that being the election day and all,Orchard would be relatively vacant. But apparently not,as the streets were crowded with people after people after people. It didnt help that the weather was so typically fucked up,like the usual Singapore weather.Oh well,i took refuge in Borders and got my hands on Annie Proulx's The Shipping News.It does seem rather intriguing, and after all it is the same author of Brokeback Mountain, which i thought was a pretty well written book, though it is hardly a book, with a little more than fifty pages only.

Met up with Corinna at Wheelocks,as she took the escalator up from the basement.I called "Bitch" like three times, and apparently instead of catching her attention, the lady behind her looked up at me,half glaring and half confused at this strange dude above her, calling somebody a bitch.Speaking of a day with awkward moments,i nearly slapped a Corinna look-alike on the train to town, and figured that it wasnt her because she was wearing jeans.Corinna never wears jeans.Ever.

Dinner at TCC was great.I mean, the Oreo thing was great, the Teriyaki Salmon thing was great, and the waitress was great. We didnt catch her name, but i think she should get a pay raise or something,if i am the manager. How many waitress in Singapore do you meet, who smiles at you,i mean REALLY smiles at you whenever they pour water for you,or asks for your menus,or taking your order and stuff. Both of us agreed, that she was cute in her own ways.Corinna admired her features, while i was more interested with her attitude, which was pure gold in my opinion. She reminded me of that waitress down at the Raffles City's Cartel, actually.Very nice.

Took a stab at the Tiramisu there, despite the warnings by Corinna.I mean, she didnt like the Tiramisu there, saying that they put too much chocolate powder on top of it.Then i was wondering, how was it even possible to have TOO MUCH chocolate? But in the end,she was right. The powder almost choked me,as i tried my best to swallow it all down.I think they should have some kind of warning for customers in the menu beside the Tiramisu that says,"Not suitable for Asthma patients and Darth Vader".Because really,it was so thick that i was coughing the first mouth that i had.And the alcohol taste was really strong as well. It's not that i cant take it,but the fact that i couldnt exactly taste the sweetest of it,turned me off just a tad bit.

Now,Mission:Impossible III was incredibly good.Very, very intense movie i must say.It is the perfect movie to start off the summer with i must say,and ALL HAIL J.J. ABRAMS!That bloody guy,i was cursing after the movie,of how disgustingly talented he is.Hell,Alias and Lost, then now Mission:Impossible III.The day that guy runs out of ideas,or fails to write an intriguing story would be the day you see sheeps flying.Seriously, that dude has the X-factor going on in his head, you cant deny his talents.

This movie has the sort of thing suitable for everybody. It has action,it has love,it has comedy,it has all those cool spy gadgets, technology stuff.I loved the way they made a mask out of Owen Davian's face on the spot in the movie, and the way they showed the process of how Ethan Hunt wore the mask, and the way it slowly 'melted' onto his face. The scene in the toilet was incredible, and i shant spoil it for anybody out there. All i have to say it,i was on the edge of my seat when the security guard came in.Amazing.

Maggie Q.Oh my god,Maggie Q.I bet Corinna turned lesbian then when Maggie Q was underground in Vatican with the rest of the team, pulling out a detonator from under her skirt and blowing up a bloody Lamborghini.Yeah,a bloody Lamborghini.Compared to her,Jennifer Garner is like...i dont know,Harriot the Spy?Maggie Q's amazing.

As much as i love twisting plots,i hate the way i have the ability to guess who the main villain is.I mean,it is always not who you think it is,of course. That's the way movies work, actually. After reading too many Dan Browns, you start to know how such plots are written, and how the main villain behind everything is always the ones closest to you.But oh well,it was still a nice twist, and it made the other two M:Is look like Spy Kids.

The only flaw in the movie, was the credit.Hell,Kanye West utterly destroyed the theme song,single-handedly.It was downright awful,i couldnt even stay for a minute longer in the theatres to wait for the song to stop.Limp Bizkit did a hell lot of a better job than they did for the second movie, really.I still prefer the rock feel to the theme song, and not the Hip-Hop R&B thing Kanye West conjured. It was just not my cup of tea,and horrendous i must say.

Other than that,a night out with Corinna and the essentric Tom Cruise was wonderfully ended by my mother fetching her home a little after midnight.Great movie man, great movie.Watch it,right now.

Next movie,The Da Vinci Code!(So Dark the Con of Men)

This entry will self-destruct in five seconds.
